Forged Bed. Steel, 27 x 18 x 15 inches 2019.
The sculpture evokes a childhood memory of the parental bed with its wrought iron headboard. The bed was handcrafted by heating the metal in a coal forge and shaping it with hammer blows. This piece was created during my time as a Blacksmithing studio artist at Salem Art Works' artist residency program.
